09-08-2025Don't plan to use the suction cups if you're putting it in the sand boas habitat. They pushed them right off the bottom of the floor that you hoped they would stay suctioned to. Otherwise they work great I just have to put them back in the spot I want to register the temperature for. However, I always have a ballpark temperature for directly under the basking lamp and I at least know that there is a place in my habitat that is at a reasonable temperature, even if the boas have pushed it out of the basking hot zone. They are reasonably well calibrated. When I switched probes from tank to tank, the temperature only varied by a fraction of a degree implying that both the heat lamps and the temperature probes were functioning properly.

09-08-2025My aquariums hold Sea Monkeys (R) and Giant Triops (tadpole shrimp). The main tank is freshwater. The thermometers helped me setup the hatching tanks and the main tank. Shrimp eggs hatch quicker when the water, light, and temperature is correct. Since the heaters don't display the water temperature, the thermometers showed how quickly the temperature changed. One unit had a bad suction cup. A deformity kept it from sticking to the tank. Fortunately, a paperclip might work.Seventy-eight degrees is important for life. Make sure your plants and animals are comfortable, too.
