09-08-2025Between the doctor mom, and the dad, she is the smart one by far, and the dad is the dummy as far as trying to hide the evidence and trying to get the Mom on board to do the same, so the dad was pretty lame there and overdone just a little in the movie so that's why I did not give it five gold stars, and the mom wanted to be upfront about it, which would have made things go smoother on the Dad part in the movie. Anyway, it's worth watching if you haven't seen it before. It's a good movie. Get the popcorn and candy bars ready.

09-08-2025I rarely watch films more than once. I did watch this twice. If one is familiar with the cast of this movie, I don't think it's surprising that the acting was superb. The only sad thing was wondering where Edward Furlong's career was derailed. After viewing this film, I hope he gets his act together like Robert Downey Jr. He truly is a talent that I'd hate to see go to waste.
Meryl Streep stars as a respected, dedicated small town pediatrician whose life is thrown into turmoil when her teenage son Jacob disappears and is suspected of brutally murdering his girlfriend. When the boy returns home, she and her husband struggle to confront tragedy, protect their son, and survive as best they can.
