08-08-2025I’ve been really impressed with this Blink doorbell so far. The camera quality is better than I expected, and it captures everything clearly, even in the long entryway leading up to the door. The notifications have been very accurate too, with smart alerts for people, cars, and other motion.The night vision looks sharp and helps me feel more secure when it's dark outside. I did notice the device has gone offline a couple of times, even though my internet was fine and other devices stayed connected. It came back online pretty quickly both times, so it hasn't been a dealbreaker, just something to keep an eye on.Battery life is advertised as two years. Too early to say if that’s true, but I’m hopeful.I really like the white color. It looks clean and modern at my front door. Setup was super easy. Installation went quickly, and the instructions walked me through everything one step at a time.I’m pretty comfortable with Alexa devices, so that may have helped, but I think anyone could get this up and running without much trouble.I went with the yearly plan for just one device, and it’s all I need. This Blink doorbell does exactly what I want, and it costs a lot less than a Ring. Really happy with the look and the functionality.Overall, I feel much better having this installed. It's a solid upgrade for peace of mind, and the features work well without spending a fortune.

08-08-20251JUN2025 - Just got this camera a few moments ago, and I’d have to say that this camera has some bulk to it! This camera protrudes about 1 1/2 inches, but this accounts for the additional battery it takes, which are 3 lithium batteries that are provided.Blink also seems to have improved the mount on the bottom, where it’s now a push motion to separate mount from the camera.You receive some additional tools for mounting and wiring, which come in sealed bags.The instructions provided are very easy to follow and get your camera online.It’s a worthy upgrade from the previous Blink doorbell camera! Will see how performance goes as time goes on.13JUN2025 - I’ve had the Blink subscription to test the Person Detection for this doorbell, and it has been AWESOME! The position of my front door does not allow me to position it differently, so it has to face to road. I’ve received minimal, if not almost zero notifications of movement from cars, car lights animals, and other movement.Comparing it to the previous version of the Blink doorbell, this is a significant improvement. I had to constantly adjust the sensitivity to minimize the amount of unwanted motion, while also trying to capture the motion that were important, and saving battery life.Now with this new version, I am more comfortable maxing out the sensitivity and the duration of the recording, thanks to the Person Detection feature. And, this camera is easy to remove from the mount! I don’t have to struggle with using the prying tool to push down the clip to remove the camera. This now just requires you to push the spring loaded clip that holds the camera, and it releases with ease.The fact the back camera itself is protected from the elements with an actual cover for the battery, is a great feature too. Overall, still very pleased with this upgrade, and I think you will too!22JUN2025 - Blink’s newest doorbell camera continues to meet and exceed my expectations for a battery-operated security camera/system. However, I am currently moving this to 4-stars, as I still notice that when a notification of movement detected appears on my mobile device, there is no video associated with it inside the app. As a result, you may miss important clips of motion or persons (if using Person Detection). While I don’t suspect this to be caused by my internet connection, it still is a slight concern, but not detrimental for the day-to-day use of this doorbell camera. Your results may differ from mine.Again, I want to emphasize that this camera is a significant improvement from its predecessor, from build quality and image quality, and is still worth it for a battery-operated doorbell camera and its price point.10JUL2025 - I'm giving this 5-stars now, as I think I figured out why some of my cameras, including the Blink Doorbell camera, would alert of movement, but not save a recording. I had a Blink Sync Module XR laying around, and decided to upgrade from my current Blink Sync Module 2 that was used for my setup. Once I upgraded to XR, I noticed significant improvement in responsiveness in live view mode and the quick snapshot. After a few days, I can confirm that each alert/notification of movement actually saves the video within the app. However, I will need to continue to monitor this as I'm not sure if it's still a networking-related issue, or, a Blink-related issue. Regardless, the Blink Video Doorbell continues to meet and exceed my expectations for a battery-centric security camera, and the upgrade from it's predecessor is definitely worth it.

08-08-2025Totally blown away by the newer version of this a doorbell!! Field if view is awesome and has great image quality. I love the added feature of setting temperature alerts through the door bell and you can calibrate it to the actual outside temp if need be. Worth the upgrade and I am very pleased. I do find it interesting that this doorbell requires 3 batteries unlike the last version requiring 2. Installation was a snap. This newer version requires the use of the supplied mounting plate as the older version doorbell mounting plate will not work with new one.
