09-08-2025My cat is finally losing weight!!! This is the best quality for price weight management cat food! My cat who doesn’t need to lose weight has remained the same whereas miss chonkers here is obviously overweight and finally losing weight after refusing other diet changes. She’s a picky eater (despite the way she looks). She either hates it or loves it so it’s hard to get her to eat or it’s hard to get her to quit eating depending on the food. I had 0 problem changing her to this food and it even seems that my cats have a better energy which could also be helping trim her down and has not given either cat digestion issues. If anything, it has improved! I hope this food adds some years to my fur babies lives. This food is perfect and probably saved my chunky kittys life!! Will try to remember to update once she’s at her appropriate weight! Thank you Blue Buffalo!!!

09-08-2025Several years ago, one of my cats had trouble with her fur. She kept picking at it, scratching, and biting at it until parts of her body were completely bare, and she even broke the skin in places. I took her to a couple of vets over a year. One of them said that it was fleas, although neither he nor I had seen any evidence of fleas on her. I had three other cats at the time, neither of which had fleas. I combed them out regularly, and there were no fleas.Unsatisfied with that suggestion, I took her to another vet who put her on steroids. That seemed to help some, but it affected the cat's personality, and it wasn't something that could be considered a solution since she continued to pick at her fur, albeit not as compulsory. While shopping at Petco, I met a Blue Buffalo representative. The company was new then, and the representative suggested that her problem, as I had described it, could be related to an allergy to either corn, soy, or wheat. I wasn't convinced because, after all, the representative was obviously trying to sell me a product, but I tried it. Since my cats didn't restrict themselves to personal food bowls, all of my cats were switched to Blue Buffalo from Science Diet.It wasn't long before I began seeing impressive improvements, and that progressed to a full recovery. She quit picking at her fur, which grew out to be very nice. On top of that, my other three cats, whom I had thought to be completely healthy, showed noticeable improvements as well. Their fur looked even better than before, and they were more playful and. happy. These four cats lived to their mid to late 20s, one of them nearly making it to 29 years of age, and there were very few veterinary visits during that time. At that time, I was letting my cats outside during the day, which I no longer do, but one of my cats got into a fight with another cat (not mine) when she was in her 20s, and she seemed to be winning when I broke it up after hearing the noise of a cat fight. That was the one who lived to be within a few months of 29 years old.I later became a representative for Blue Buffalo; in stores in Maine and North Carolina. Although it has been many years since I worked for the company, Blue Buffalo has continued to be the staple catfood in this family.I free-feed Blue Buffalo kibble, occasionally mixing in a small bag of another premium brand just to mix things up a bit, but they mostly have Blue Buffalo kibble available to them at all times.I currently have two cats (Ella, age 11, and Bubba, age 2), and they both like Blue Buffalo and are doing very well with it. Besides the kibble, I split a 5.0-5.5 oz can of premium wet food between them each morning or two smaller cans, and if they finish that, I'll give them more in the afternoon. Wet food is an important part of their diet because cats prefer to get their liquid requirements from their food, although drinking water is always available to them as well. This is the Adult Cat Weight Control recipe. Although neither of my cats is overweight, I rotate between the various Blue Buffalo kibble recipes, including this one. A cat food recipe should have meat, poultry, or fish as the first ingredient and no corn, soy, or wheat, as some cats are allergic to one or all of these and don't digest these ingredients well anyway. I also look for something without gluten or unnamed byproducts.Considering that about 80% of cat food's ingredients are contained in the first four ingredients on the list, let's look at the first six ingredients: deboned chicken, chicken meal, brown rice, barley, oatmeal, and pea protein. The darker kibbles, found in all Blue Buffalo kibble recipes, are LifeSource Bits. They contain a precise blend of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants selected to help pets thrive. I have seen comments from pet owners saying that their cat didn't like the LifeSource Bits, and that's possible. I had one cat who would painstakingly sort through the kibble, picking out the LifeSource Bits, but all of the other cats I have raised on Blue Buffalo don't mind them.My cats like Blue Buffalo canned food as well, but they demand a larger variety of wet foods, so I rotate several other premium brands of canned food into their diet. However, while I will rotate different recipes of Blue Buffalo kibble, their kibble is nearly always Blue Buffalo.Blue Buffalo's price has come down as compared to other premium brands over the years, but the same quality has continued, and I see no reason to change something that has worked well for years.

09-08-2025I,ve been using this cat food for years, and it does exactly what it's supposed to do. My cat is almost five years old, and she has never been overweight. I started buying this as more of a preventative measure because she is an indoor cat, and sometimes doesn't get as much exercise. I know weight can cause lots of issues in older cats, so I decided to start her on this early to keep her at a consistent weight. She's ranged between 10 - 12 pounds, but mostly stays in the 11 pound range. She loves the taste, and goes wild when her food comes out of the feeder at feeding time. The food has always been consistent in terms of quality, texture, smell, and freshness. I switched from Science Diet, but this food is a better value for the money.
