09-08-2025Why did you pick this product vs others?:Replacing a 15 year old Brother multi machine and hope to have as good of service out of this one. Only issue so far and really not an issue is the old machine glass for scanner was larger to allow the scanning of a legal size 8.5X14 document. This one is 8.5X11 only. It will pull a legal size in and scan and print legal size output so not really an issue as long as the pull paper thru scanner will work for years to come. Potential issue down the road.

09-08-2025I have had nothing but problems with this printer/scanner since it was purchased. I like Brother as a company, but this device is garbage when trying to use the scanner. Brother forces you to use Brother iPrint & Scan software, which is fine if the device works consistently, but about every 2 or 3 weeks, I have to uninstall and reinstall the drivers to get the scanner to work. Today, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software and drivers multiple times resulting in the same issues each time. Brother utilities show no scanner, but iPrint & Scan does. It cannot be setup to scan from the device to the PC without showing in the Brother utilities software. After an hour wasted, I will be disposing of this printer and purchasing something else.

09-08-2025It appears every printer out there does not get top reviews. :) When HP decided to NOT let you print without setting up an account with them, they lost a computer shop that'd been with them for 20 years.Now, for this printer, Setup went without issue, I even got it to print from windows 7 using an older driver that looked close. ha I bought it for the scanner mostly and can scan to computer, or network share. All went without a hitch and the prints are fast and look good. I like this printer!! I did take off one point as the printer will only take an admin password of their choosing. In other words, the printer thinks it's your daddy and should control what you may use as a password. Not acceptable.. I have a 15 digit password with characters and Uppercase, yet it insisted I couldn't have 3 consecutive numbers of which there was one set of 3.
