I bought this Canon to replace my Canon PIXMA printer I bought all the way back in 2008. That printer was a workhorse; in spite of heavy usage for both printing and scanning, it held up well for nearly 15 years. Finally, it got to the point it wasn't printing as well so I decided to replace it with another Canon. HUGE MISTAKE! This thing is a piece of junk on so many levels.1. Print quality declines quickly. I've only printed maybe 50-100 pages worth of stuff and it's already smearing ink on documents. My old Canon inkjet from 2008 did better than this. How is a laser printer from 2024 giving lower quality than an inkjet from 2008?2. Wifi is a nightmare. If you've ever seen Office Space, you know the famous scene where they "beat up" the printer. That's how I've felt about this thing's wifi. It works, then it doesn't. It changes IP addresses. Then it inexplicably just fails to work at all.3. Software is crap. Once again, the 2008 PIXMA inkjet was better. How? How has everything gotten worse in 16 years?From what I've heard, Brother makes great printers, and all the other brands have declined in quality over the years, so if you're looking to buy a new printer, I'd recommend looking in that direction and avoid Canon.
