08-08-2025I’ve been using these to keep in the bathroom for the middle of the night because sometimes my 10 year old dog uses it while we’re all asleep. I usually use the reusable washable ones, but I needed to buy these in a pinch when the reusable ones I had no longer were being absorbent.While these are a great size, the edges do not absorb and liquids tend to pool off of the pad itself. They have great odor control, but the edges do not hold liquid well and cause the liquid to fall off and if you live in a house like mine, sometimes it leaks off and into a puddle off to the side. I have found that if I use two next to each other or layered side-by-side, this is not an issue. I used water to show how it pools and can fall off. Again, she only uses these here and there but if your dog is anything like mine and likes to pee on the edge, it may pool elsewhere and leave a mess. Other than that, it’s great!

08-08-2025Update 3/30/24: I still can't tell you how they work for dogs, but I got a 3-week old kitten a few days ago (long story), and have been using these for him. He's getting to the point now where he doesn't need to be stimulated to pee, and so it's kind of unpredictable when it'll happen. I've had him on my bed with one of these under him, and despite being so tiny, he pees a LOT. and nothing leaked through! Of course I didn't leave it down to see if it would eventually leak through, but at least for the time he was urinating and a minute afterward while I cleaned him up, there were no problems. In fact, I'm about to buy another pack, which is what reminded me to update the review!I was moving to another state and had 2 cats coming along. The only space I had for a litter box was a cheap, low-walled box you'd find at a dollar store, and I knew that was asking for trouble because one of my boys likes to scoot as close to the wall as he can...which means he often dribbles over the edge of the box unless it's got high walls.I wasn't about to do that to the hotel floors.So I decided to buy these, and while one isn't large enough to cover the area around the box, two of them were just fine. I liked them well enough that now I plan to keep a backup supply of them, because I have a new litterbox with a lid and my cat STILL finds a way to get urine between the cracks sometimes. I guess he does acrobatics inside. Anyway, they were a really good purchase, especially since they weren't that expensive!
