09-08-2025PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS! I just had a devastating loss in my tank because this thing decided it wanted to get hot and melt all all the plastic clips. It probably shocked my entire tank!I just did a water change on my 10 gallon tank. I always shut down my heater, filter, and air bubblers. Once the water gets high enough to cover the heater, I start everything up again. Jesus, I had just put the last gallon of water in the tank and all I could see was smoke. I thought it was my light, but it was coming out of the water because everything was melting. I switched the main power button on my surge protector. My fish started flopping and sinking to the bottom. I had a net that I was able to catch a few tetra fish that were at the top. My shrimp darted to the top of the tank, then nose dived to the bottom and turned upside down.I am so upset right now. I just lost 5 fish and a dozen shrimps. Probably will lose my assassin snails and two other tetra fish that I was able to get out of my tank. I have several pest snails that are now laying on their sides that will probably die. But those are not such a big deal. I spent nearly 6 months on this tank getting everything right. I just didn't have a heater, and opted for this one because of all the "Wonderful Reviews". Don't do it people.I am adding photos, not of my fish that were loss.
