09-08-2025Make sure to check EACH block prior to your return window closing OR in our case gifting this set to someone. There unfortunately was water damage (rippling/waving of the cardboard) on some of the cardboard blocks. It’s almost as if they were used and returned prior to receiving them. Some of the images on some of the sides of the blocks were missing too. Manufacturer error? Super disappointing experience considering Melissa & Doug is a trusted name brand in our household. Albeit, their quality truly has declined through the years, my oldest who is almost 11 had this set as a toddler and the cardboard was significantly sturdier/ thicker years ago. I trusted that I could put this set in a little one’s Easter basket without any issue, I was unfortunately wrong. Amazon may be convenient but I’ve noticed a decline in their quality control of thoroughly checking returned items (or just items in general) prior to shipping. I would advise if you’re considering this specific set for a little one, finding a brick and mortar location so you can check this itemthoroughly prior to purchase.

09-08-2025The media could not be loaded. The first thing you should know about these blocks, which you may already if you're more observant than me, is that they are made of cardboard. I bought these for my 10 month old as she seems to be nearing the 'stacking' phase and I thought they'd be fun. Unfortunately, she's still in the 'puts everything in her mouth' phase, too, and has gone to town sucking on the edges of the smallest block. These do not hold up well for a sucking baby.If your child is a bit older and not privy to sucking on things, these will probably last a bit longer although I'm guessing not forever. They are pretty and fun to look at with lots of alphabet themed colorful designs. They stack nicely, and provide a fun physical challenge for a child.If you want something lightweight, totally non-dangerous, and cheap, these are great stacking blocks and will be loved by careful children. If you want something sturdy for a younger child, these are not it.

09-08-2025These blocks are fantastic! As with any Mellisa and Doug product. The kids live thwm and we get practice with letters, colors, animals and fine motor skills with this!
