09-08-2025This version of Lagoona is very cute. I like her simple hairstyle. There's not too much gel in her hair, just at the ends and it's easily brushed out. She's fully rooted and had very little hair loss during brushing. She comes in a cute knee-length skirt with pleather fringe, and a bikini top. She has a silicone fish net overskirt. Her shoes are also made of softer plastic, and the heels like to fold in. They're supposed to be fish hooks. Because of this, she won't stand on her own, and like all G3 Monster High dolls, she doesn't come with a stand or brush. The big question is will the paint stay on her legs, since they have that gradient. My gradient had a texture, and I'm not sure it's supposed to. My older MH dolls with similar gradient do not, and I don't recall texture on my Skulltimate Secrets Lagoona versions either. I'm going to tentatively say this has still not quite been solved, and it may rub off with prolonged play.The Snack shack is simple, just a counter with a top. It comes with an old-timey cash register with a crank and a half-barrel standing table for the dolls to eat their snacks. Unfortunately, it's not quite quite large enough to contain the sushi tray, and is really only wide enough for a couple of drinks. It has shelves on the inside to hide any accessories not in use.I do like the detail on the food. There's lightening bolt shaped pizza slices, which have been used before in the Creepover set. Instead of olives it's got little spiders. The sushi follows the same motif - the spider rolls are spiders and the nigiri look like pill bugs. There's two skullette-shaped tiki drinks in different colors with straws and umbrellas. Then there's two Mai Tai style drinks with color change paint inside to they look like they're empty when the water is warm and full when the water is cold (or it is dry). The paint Mattel is using for color change these days is quite good and you don't actually need water to make them change colors, just put them in your hand so they warm up.This is a very cute set that will go nicely with the rest of the Scare-adise Island dolls.
