Did not like this movie. Watched it for a brief short time. Did not make any sense to me. Would not recommend this to anyone. Worse purchase I have ever bought. Sorry that I had to lose money on returning it when the product wasn't what you wanted and that was to enjoy a good golf movie.

Well, where to start with? Having read the book by M.Murphy long time ago, been in Scotland for many times... It seemed to me almost impossible to bring the book onto a screen, but, the spirit of the book and of the game is sensible, the pictures awesome, even not screened in Scotland (you will know when you've been there). Why not 5 Stars? Too much has been left out of the content, which is important to my understanding. Too many scenes, which seem to be neglectable, because merely used for atmosphere. But at the end I am happy to have a piece of the Inner Game of Golf, as it could be, the mystical part of it. And I belief there is something like that despite the huge money game, which Golf has become nowadays. So, can't effort to travel to the Kingdom? Sit back, relax, have a good dram and enjoy.... Maybe you are keen to go out for a round afterwords - during moonlight.

Technical Specifications

En route to India in 1956, a young American philosophy student, Michael Murphy (Mason Gamble, Rushmore), takes a detour to the legendary Links of Burningbush. Seeking to enjoy one last round before giving up his beloved game, he is unexpectedly paired with the mysterious, mischievous golf pro Shivas Irons (David O'Hara, Braveheart, The Departed). The wild adventure he shares with his enigmatic teacher over the next 24 hours will change Murphy's perception of golf and life indelibly. GOLF IN THE KINGDOM, with original music from musician Dame Evelyn Glennie (Touch the Sound), is adapted from Michael Murphy's 1972 classic novel, the best-selling work of fiction ever written about the game, deemed "a masterpiece on the mysticism of golf" by the San Francisco Chronicle.
